TEAM PINNACLE EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS
Susan Marie & Curtis Almquist
It is an honor to call myself a full-time, professional LegalShield associate. But like most, I wasn’t full time at first — and truthfully, I didn’t even see the “career” potential when I first got started. I was a second generation, 12-year practicing attorney before finding LegalShield! However, I had begun having children and was already transitioning out of law when my friend, who was the librarian at the school where I was teaching criminal justice part time, took me to lunch and showed me the membership and business opportunity.
I am a real estate agent by trade and ran a successful $35 million volume team in Northern Virginia. I was working hard, more than 60-hour weeks, which meant very little family or personal time. I was glued to my phone and anytime a client called, I had to jump into action immediately. I was watching my beautiful wife, Dora, post pictures of our two amazing little boys, Noah and Luke, on social media and felt as though I was missing out on them growing up. In late 2018, I read Building an Empire by Mr. Brian Carruthers and happened to post about how great of a book it was on social media.
In 2010, one of my personal training clients at the University of Alabama, Roll Tide, introduced me to LegalShield! I immediately saw the value in the membership because I spent $1,600 on an attorney a year before to keep points off my record for a speeding ticket. In my head, I said man this makes so much sense, it can make dollars! I made more money my first month than I made at my job. And as they say, the rest is history.
Liz & David Lequeux
Liz Foo-Lequeux had a great start in life making a good income selling health club memberships, but she felt that something was missing. “It was exhausting to work six days a week until 10 p.m.! If I wanted to travel or go on mission trips with my church, it was hard to take off,” she explains. That’s when she met a LegalShield associate who was retired at age 30 and living the lifestyle she always wanted. “He told me to read the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.
In January of 2002, I moved to Mobile, Alabama to work as a windshield repair technician at a car wash. I did very well in the windshield repair business, eventually hiring several technicians to work at several car washes in the area. Although I did well financially, I had no time freedom since I was working 70 to 80 hours a week. Then I ran into a friend from college who gave me a cassette tape about LegalShield. After listening to the cassette tape, I was blown away by the membership. I thought to myself, “Wow! I could have used this dozens of times in my life.”
Gerry and Sallie Hasson
Gerry and Sallie are in the middle of experiencing their next adventure—living on the water! What these two successful entrepreneurs love most about their LegalShield business is that it offers them the very best gift of all—lifestyle. When Gerry met Sallie, (sounds like a familiar movie, right?) he was actually living on his sailboat. They quickly fell in love, and Gerry promised Sallie that her life with him would never be dull. For their honeymoon, Gerry and Sallie “bare-boat chartered” a beautiful sailing ketch in Greece and, by themselves, sailed to 17 incredible Greek islands.
Alan & Sheila Plummer
We give all the honor and glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who is the head of our lives and the center of our joy. Before LegalShield came into our lives, I was a retired employee of Verizon with more than 28 years of service. I also serve as an associate pastor at a local church. It’s the church my wife and I have attended since we were children and where our passion and priority have been to love and serve the Lord and His people for the last 28 years.
Patrick and Christine Manning
Christine and Pat Manning have led unconventional lives, Christine a paralegal and private investigator by day and actress, dancer, director by night, and Pat a New York State Assemblyman, farmer, grant writer, consultant and food innovator, were certainly busy, but the lack of time freedom and consistent income led them to LegalShield.
Bob & Susan Joseph
In 1979, after 8 years in the Army, Bob and Susan met on a train in Barcelona, Spain. Susan was taking a sabbatical from working as a physical therapist, and they were both in Europe seeking adventure. After months of traveling, it was clear that we belonged together and now needed to find a way to create the excitement and lifestyle we desired. Introduced to network marketing soon after and to LegalShield in 2010, it became clear that this business model of helping others while creating residual income could give us everything we were looking for, if we rolled up our sleeves and got to work.
I grew up the fourth of nine children. My mother was a homemaker and my father worked from job to job. He was in a car accident in the 1990s that put him out of work for years. Let’s just say money was a constant issue in our lives. Basically, I grew up poor. My parents did not teach us how to make lots of money, but they did teach us things that are truly priceless, qualities like faith, discipline, hard work, leadership, grit, and most importantly, putting others before ourselves.
I was working with one of the largest ministries in the country, traveling the world, and loving my life. The only problem was that I was flat broke at the end of every pay period. There was literally nothing left over. My plan was to figure out a way to make some extra money. One day, I found a magazine that spotlighted LegalShield’s membership and the incredible stories of ordinary people who were making extra money … many of them part time! I connected with Brian Carruthers who took me under his wing and taught me the ins and outs of the business.
Kevin and Linda Torres
After 20 years flying with the U.S. Air Force, Kevin retired as a Major. He immediately started another career with a Fortune 500 company in pharmaceuticals. Linda was working part time, so she could be home for their son, Keith, after school. They soon realized the large income Kevin was making in the corporate world came at too of high of a price. The incredible stress was severely impacting his health, and he rarely had quality time to spend with his family. They were anxious to find that balance, so they left the corporate world …
Jim & Lauren Shelvy
Last year, 2015, was an incredible year in LegalShield and in the Shelvy household. 2015 ushered in a new era that included our appointment as Network Vice Presidents for the state of Missouri, countless technology advancements, and a feeling and excitement about our future that I cannot describe. To quote Mr. Jeff Bell, “The best is truly, yet to come.” As we reflect on life before LegalShield, I’m reminded of the struggle and challenge of being a slave to a job. Both Lauren and I worked long hours to make sure we could provide for our family.
At the age of 20, Kevin had been doing residential construction for seven years, working 40-50 hours per week at the time and going to college 15 credit hours per semester at night for an architecture degree. “I was miserable. I hated my job. I never had time for friends or family, and I had nothing to show for my efforts. A guy gave me a DVD about LegalShield, and when I finally looked at it, it made so much sense to me that I jumped on board. I was able to supplement my income. I went full-time in the business within seven months, reaching Executive Director level …
Richard A Ellerman
I am a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who spent 22 years in retail management. After ending that career, I registered to go back to college and prepare for another career. I started my LegalShield business part time while going to school. I have been fortunate to transition to full time in 2015. I was accustomed to working 50-60 hours a week and missing many family and social functions. I was often stressed and felt too busy to volunteer my time for other events. While I was generating a good salary and fortunate to have good benefits, I was living on a very average income.
Jonathan & Karleen Booth
Jonathan and Karleen are an international LegalShield couple. Jonathan was born in England and Karleen in Canada. They now live in the Pacific North West in Oregon. Karleen is an elementary school teacher and is the epitome of a supportive spouse. Jonathan has worked with LegalShield since his third week after arriving in America! Prior to working with LegalShield, Jonathan retired as the UK CEO of Care for the Family (called Focus on the Family in the US and Canada). Jonathan has worked in more than 50 countries around the world ….
I love LegalShield because I love helping people. Prior to working in LegalShield, I owned several businesses and am well aware of what it takes to make payroll, pay rent and insurance, and satisfy the costs of goods and taxes before getting paid. Due to a catastrophic car accident in 1998, I lost my income and my home. Soon after I began working LegalShield full time, I went from renting and living paycheck to paycheck, to once again owning a home. Thanks to LegalShield and the Performance Club car bonus, I now drive a BMW 528i.
My LegalShield career began as a spare time endeavor that I saw as a vehicle that would allow me to stay at home and raise our two children. After teaching school for 10 years, I resigned from teaching when my husband and I started our own family. I wanted to be full time at home giving 100’% of my energy to my own little ones. Financially, it was a major challenge for us, and I had started reading books and listening to audios to learn about building wealth and saving, investing, and money in general.
When I was first introduced to LegalShield in 2010, it was the residual income and time- freedom that attracted me. I’ve had many jobs in my life, but after my 1st daughter was born, I chose not to work full-time anymore. When I used the membership and it helped me save my home, I saw immediate value and became passionate about empowering others. The proven system for success makes it easy to work on a part-time basis. It helped me stay consistent for the first 5 years, advance to Director, earn the monthly PC bonuses and commissions.
Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, I’ve made my homein Prattville Alabama since 2000. I worked many years in the restaurant industry as a server, bartender, and manager. I’m also a 19-year licensed Minister and 15-year Championship Head Football and Basketball Coach. I started my Legalshield journey just a couple years ago and already have made over a $100k in my LegalShield business. I have been full time the last 6 months and about to become the newest Ring Earner.
Roly and Natalie Gutierrez
We are professional clowns who live in Katy, Texas. We have two wonderful grown children, Jamie, our daughter, and Chris, our son. We were actually in another networking company for 17 years and the most we ever made was $300 – two months in a row. Actually, we didn’t really make that, because once you subtracted the cost of the products, we really just broke even for those two months. The rest of the time, we lost money every month. When LegalShield came along, we were pretty burned out on doing any type of home-based business opportunity.
Like many people, my path to LegalShield was a long and winding one. I started out in what many would consider to be a pretty successful career in the computer & video game industry, becoming a Vice President of Marketing & Sales by age 27, with a lot of assistance and inspiration from not one but THREE amazing mentors to whom I owe a great deal to this very day. The opportunities they gave me brought about a lot of success and amazing experiences, but at age 34 I hit a wall.
For the past 22 years, I have been in the mortgage business. I have worn every hat there is to try on in the business. In 2008, when the housing market began to fail, many of my clients found themselves in horrific situations. No matter how hard I tried, there was no way to convince the banks to work in a spirit of mutual cooperation to salvage the homes of so many families. I decided I wanted to do something more meaningful, but mortgage had always been my career path.
I dropped out of college in 2009 to join the Marine Corps. I did 2 tours, one on a Navy Carrier all around the Pacific Ocean in 2011, the other to Afghanistan in 2012, and honorably discharged in 2013. I came back home to Mobile, AL and started bartending on nights and weekends while working construction as a roofer full time throughout the next couple years staying extremely busy just to pay bills and get by. Finally, I was introduced to this opportunity by a great friend of mine in May of 2015.
